Project Jolie - Dining Room Transformation
Project Jolie, a full home renovation, is a project that I am so proud of and love looking back on. I’ve already shared the stunning transformation of the kitchen in an earlier blog post that you can view here! However, the dining room located by the front door also got a full makeover! This small yet pivotal area underwent a transformation that redefined its purpose—to be an inviting haven, welcoming all who enter.

Crafting a Welcoming Atmosphere
When faced with the challenge of maximizing a confined space such as this, the answer lay in embracing its unique structure. Introducing a white round table within the odd structure of walls created exactly what this room needed. It became a focal point, breathing life into the room's layout. I also selected fun and decorative chairs that pulled the elements of the room together seamlessly.
Light and Airy Aesthetic
The chosen color palette embraced soft whites, hues of blue, rattan, and earthy decor creating an airy, tranquil vibe. As you turn the corner, the room beckons, extending a warm invitation. This space is now the perfect space to host family gatherings, dinner parties, and holiday celebrations, as the room features a place to sit as well as a buffet space for arranging food platters and drinks.
The buffet space underwent a notable transformation with a fresh coat of paint, new doors, and updated hardware. I added a very soft wallpaper teeter to the back, highlighting the coastal vibe and bringing in the blues and whites of the design. This set the stage for a floating shelf that introduced an intriguing decorative element. Utilizing alder wood with a medium stain enhanced the room's overall warmth and appeal. I love the combination of coastal and earthy tones as they complement each other beautifully.
The walls were repainted with "White Flour" by Sherwin Williams. This choice of paint refreshed the dining room, complementing the light and airy aesthetic while serving as the perfect backdrop for the curated decor elements.
The dining room in Project Jolie shows what is possible with a little creativity and reimagining of spaces. What was once a modest space by the entrance has now blossomed into an inviting room that begs to be used. It is the perfect marriage of beauty, warmth, and functionality.
